The businesses, clubs, and organizations in our community host many great activities and events over the Roots and Fruits weekend.

June 21st: 

National Indigenous People’s Day – Nk’Mip Desert Cultural Centre 

Go Skate Day!

 5:00-8:00pm – Lion’s Park (6607 Station Street)

 Join the SOSS Skateboard club, Respect Record and Skate, and Oliver Parks and Recreation for a skateboard jam at Lion’s Park

Rise Dance Academy Colours in Motion

6:00pm – Venables Theatre

Come celebrate all the colours of the rainbow with the 130+ dancers that will hit the stage this year when we bring you “Colours in Motion”. Groove along to tunes such as Brown Eyed Girl, Back in Black, Yellow Submarine and much much more as you watch dancers ages 3-grandparents show their hard work and skills.

As always, we have a ton of fun planned for the lobby of the theatre too, such as our famous bake sale and competitive team fundraisers! Come on out for a great evening of family fun and entertainment that everyone young and old can enjoy!

Live Music in the Plaza 

3:00-5:00pm – Oliver & District Wine Village – Free

Ari Neufeld is a creative. If it can be made with the human body, he’s probably figuring out how to make it. Music. Art. Rhythm. Melody. Rhyme. Visual innovation and diversity. Neufeld plays regularly with Canada’s fiddler phenom Jennie Bice, and bides most of his year traveling and being creative.
